Arabic is a so-called Semitic language, which is a subgroup of Afroasiatic languages. Arabic, like most other languages, is divided into written and spoken. Written Arabic is practically no different from the language used in the Quran. However, the majority of the population uses a colloquial form of the language, which, however, differs from country to country. Thus, we distinguish, for example, Egyptian, Syrian, Iraqi, Moroccan colloquial Arabic. However, the differences between the national versions of Arabic are not significant and are mainly manifested in the written form of the language.
Arabic is considered the official language of 26 countries, Arabic is spoken by about 250 million people and more than 1 billion people use it as a liturgical language.
